McDonald’s new fried chicken sandwiches are a huge improvement. But do they stack up to Popeyes and KFC?



When I ranked all of the quick meals fried chicken sandwiches a few years in the past, McDonald’s did, how let’s say it, poorly. In reality, I ranked the McChicken in final place, decrying the “spongy texture” of the chicken patty and the “painfully salty” exterior. Likewise, I discovered the chain’s different two choices, the buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich and the traditional chicken sandwich, needlessly salty and dry.
