Curtis (Curt) Swedlund, 72, of Fort Dodge handed away Monday, April 12th, 2021 on the Simpson Health Center Friendship Haven.
A visitation can be from 6:00 to eight:00 p.m. Monday, April 19th, 2021 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Funeral Services can be Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials could also be left to the discretion of the household.
Curt Swedlund was born June 16, 1948 to Clifford and Ruby (Campbell) Swedlund in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The household established their residence in Fort Dodge. Curt attended colleges in Fort Dodge earlier than graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High. Following highschool he attended and graduated from Morningside College. Shortly there-after he started a prolonged profession with CENTEL (later Frontier) cellphone firm.
On September 15th, 1972 Curt was united in marriage to Cheryl Wymer. The couple made their residence in Fort Dodge. In April of 1975 Cheryl was recognized with Multiple Sclerosis. Curt was her rock, supporter, and care giver day by day till her passing at Christmas 2016. Curt loved studying, engaged on crossword puzzles and something Christmas, particularly engaged on Christmas lights. In December of 2019, conserving a promise made to Cheryl, he attended two “Holiday at Pops” concert events at Symphony Hall in Boston with the Boston Pops. The main highlights of this journey had been throwing tea into the harbor, exploring the USS Constitution and twice being acknowledged by Santa Claus (on the Concerts) for his beard.
Those grateful for Curt’s life embrace son, Jason Swedlund; Sadie, his and Cheryl’s pet, devoted and at all times current companion; nephew, Wade (Theresa) Presley; niece, Megan Presley; brothers Mark (Deb) Swedlund & Rick (Jacqueline) Swedlund; sister, Nancy Swedlund; and a particular pal to each he and Cheryl, Veronica Averill. Curt was preceded in dying by his spouse of forty-four years, Cheryl, dad and mom Clifford and Ruby Swedlund, niece Alison Keaupuni & an toddler sister.
